Daniela was born and raised in Argentina, and her passion for the open grasslands of Patagonia and Africa has informed her professional path. She studied agronomy and natural resource management in Buenos Aires, and later in New Zealand where she met her husband and was introduced to the work of her lifelong mentor, Zimbabwean Allan Savory, with whom she has worked closely since then. 

Daniela and her husband managed their family ranch in Colorado for 17 years while running their consulting and education company that works with farmers and institutions worldwide. In 2010, Daniela co-founded the  Savory Institute, an international non-profit based in Boulder with regional training hubs around the globe. Using Holistic Management, Savory helps create economically vibrant communities worldwide by facilitating large-scale regeneration of the world’s grasslands and the livelihoods of their inhabitants. Simultaneously, she co-founded Grasslands LLC, a for-profit company managing extensive, wild, rugged grassland landscapes acquired for or owned by investor partners. 

Daniela has served as board member and advisor to multiple international organizations. Passionate about elevating the voices and work of women in agriculture globally, she is a member of the US-based Pleiades Women Network and Women in Ranching, and Pampeanas Regenerativas Orientales (PRO) based in Uruguay. She also holds degrees in advanced negotiation and conflict resolution from the University of Notre Dame. Daniela has two young daughters, Savanna and Mia who are avid travelers and enjoy exploring the world’s cultures by joining Daniela in many of her work travels.
