Sarah Murray

Sarah has been an active and integral part of the City Club community since June 2018. She is a global authority on sport and gender, and has been wearing the Women Win jersey since 2009. In her current role, she leads all work related to Women Win's development in the U.S., as well as thought leadership related to girls’ sport and empowerment. She has played sports with girls and women in over 65 countries. 

Prior to Women Win, Sarah spent ten years in Communications for the Women’s Sports Foundation (U.S.). She co-authored the GoGirlGo! project – a curriculum aimed at helping girls navigate social pressures through sport, which won the Gold National Health Award. Her critical writing on gender, travel and sports have appeared in dozens of media outlets, including Huffington Post, UN Chronicle, Feministing.org and Women’s Adventure. She has interviewed hundreds of celebrities on the social impact of sport, including Peyton Manning, Sheryl Crow, Annika Sorenstam, Freddy Adu, Christiane Amanpour and Holly Hunter. Additionally, she has ghostwritten for Geena Davis, Billie Jean King and Mia Hamm. In addition to her work with Women Win, Sarah is currently a Master Innovation trainer with the THNK School for Creative Leadership and has consulted for organizations ranging in size and scope from FIFA to FRIDA fund on topics including innovation, storytelling and gender. 

She is a soccer player. A triathlete. A snowboarder and is basically game to play anything, any time. Most recently she added “parent” to Tallulah Moss Murray to her ever impressive list of accomplishments.
