City Club's new Executive Chef, Tim Cook, hails from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Tim is a devoted father of two young children and a loving husband to Kaitlin, a dedicated pediatric dentist.

Growing up in a close-knit family, Tim cherished the nightly gathering around the family dinner table, a ritual that sparked his early passion for the culinary arts. His journey began humbly in a local café, where he was captivated by the kitchen's rhythm, energy, dedication, and teamwork, igniting a passion that grew stronger over time.

Formal training at culinary school laid the groundwork for Tim's love of cooking. But his experiences in the kitchens of top-tier restaurants, such as the three Michelin-starred Alinea in Chicago, shaped his culinary perspective. Working alongside renowned chefs, Tim honed his craft, embracing the discipline and creativity required in fine dining, nothing that great chefs have a unique ability to remain grounded and committed to the daily grind and the art of cooking.

Tim's journey continued to New York, where he was instrumental in opening The Aviary, a venue celebrated for its innovative approach to cocktails and elevated bar bites. This experience deepened his appreciation for meticulous standards and creativity, skills he continues to bring to every endeavor. Tim's culinary philosophy is team-centric, where collaboration is vital to creating culinary art.

Tim is particularly passionate about vegetable-centric cuisine, treating vegetables with the same reverence as premium cuts of meat. He delights in making homemade pasta, appreciating the rustic charm and careful techniques it requires.

Beyond the kitchen, Tim enjoys playing golf and finds striking parallels between the precision required in the game and cooking artistry. An avid outdoorsman, Tim was drawn to Colorado's vibrant and sunny winters, a perfect backdrop for his family's adventures.

Tim is thrilled to embrace his new role as City Club’s Executive Chef. Inspired by the boundless possibilities of our Food and Beverage program, he looks forward to crafting a unique culinary experience fueled by the warmth and enthusiasm of our wonderful membership, which he has already felt in his short time here.
