California Wildfires

Throughout history, natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, and fires, coupled with technological disruptions like the Industrial Revolution and the advent of electricity, computers, and now AI, have acted as evolutionary hinges. Add wars and revolutions to this toxic witch’s brew, and we have all the necessary ingredients for the death and destruction of the status quo, leading to fertility and rebirth of a new era.

History repeats itself. Cycles are real.

In the 1950s era of segregation, Joseph McCarthy and the KKK represented the far right of the political spectrum, leading to Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society era. Today, events like Donald Trump’s election, the assassination of a healthcare CEO, the terrorist attacks in New Orleans and Las Vegas, and now the fires in California suggest that society has swung too far to the political left, with the Woke in control.

If California were a country, it would boast the world’s fifth-largest economy. Yet, it functions as a politically failed state incapable of governing itself. Gainfully employed Californians pay ~50% of their income in taxes. The average compensation for a unionized LA fireman consists of a salary of $200,000/year plus $90,000 in benefits, yet the reservoirs are empty and in disrepair, exacerbating catastrophic fires. While the LA fires spewed millions of tons of carbon into the air, fire trucks from Washington State were required to stop in Sacramento to secure emission inspections!

California’s unionized dock workers earn six-figure salaries and are nearly impossible to fire. Due to overhiring, some are paid without being required to work. Others claim permanent disability while photographed playing golf. The new union contracts block the adoption of technology to enhance efficiency. No wonder China is eating our lunch in trade!

California’s cities are overwhelmed by crime and homelessness. The state spends over $20 billion annually—$42,000 per homeless person—on its estimated 173,000 homeless population. Rather than shrinking, these numbers are growing. Why work if the state is willing to take care of you?

For the past century, California has been at the leading edge of American culture. Today, its challenges frighten the rest of the nation, fueling Donald Trump’s reelection as voters seek alternatives to the status quo.

Welcome to the Revolution. Enjoy the new hinge in history.
