The Resolute War

A Sitting Duck: American Military Outpost In Jordan Where Three Soldiers Were Killed

It was bound to happen. I said it would and was called a warmonger. I predicted Russia would invade Ukraine, and so they did. I predicted Iran and Israel would be at war, with Russia backing Iran and America backing Israel, and so we are.

While America might tend to focus more on capitalistic impulses than global expansion, particularly after her failed adventures in Indo-China, Iraq, and Afghanistan, Iran is hell-bent on Jihad, a holy war in the name of Islam. In short, Iran needs and covets war.

Ever since Iran first took 52 Americans hostage for 444 days in 1979, labeling Israel the Little Satan and America the Big Satan, it has been dead set on their respective destruction and downfall. For 44 years, Iran and its proxies have been killing Americans in Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, and Israel. We’ve been drawn into a sucker’s gambit: the more America tries to buy peace by funding Iran and its “Ring of Fire'' proxies, such as Hamas, Houthis, and Hezbollah, the more belligerent Iran and its proxies act. We must make Iran fear America again.

President Biden took office at the time we were reaping the peace dividends from the Abrahamic Accords, there was talk of peace between Israel and the House of Saud, and Iran was in such terrible shape that its population was in a revolutionary mode, and its national coffers were down to a mere $6 Billion in reserves. Compare that with Iran today, having $100 billion in reserves and a war posture since October 7th, marked by over 165 attacks on American interests, leaving three American servicemen dead and dozens injured.

Iran is, indeed, what it proudly declares to be – the world’s largest and most effective terrorist organization.

Today’s Iran has armed itself and its proxies to the hilt, supplied Russia with arms against Ukraine, made clear its ambitions to go nuclear, and constantly pokes the “Satans,” not because it feels strong but because it sees a weakened adversary led by an aging leader who is running for re-election, with little resolve for another war.

Hamas's October 7th attack on Israel was just a test. The Houthis, using Iranian-supplied guided missiles and satellite navigation systems, can hit American interests on land and sea at a larger scale.

While I am as much of a peace-loving capitalist as the next guy, let’s just say I would prefer a Churchill over a Chamberlain negotiating for peace on my behalf.

We are at war. Time to elect a president who can demonstrate resolve in these tough times. Think Power vs. Force. Think Golda Meir and Margaret Thatcher.
