Library Rules
Our third-floor co-working space is a huge success, and our Business Membership is growing. With snow on the ground, the fireplace radiating heat and the new cappuccino machine putting out some of the best drinks in town, we have more members working here than ever. To create a better work environment for all our members, we are adopting new rules and procedures for the operation of this facility.
1- We are in the process of hiring a fourth person for our service team so we can better manage the third floor on a regular basis, make sure the fireplace is on, the kitchen area is clean and organized, and your favorite selection of milk/almond/oat whites is available in the fridge for your coffee. This team member will also help enforce the new operating rules for the floor.
2- To separate signal from noise, we are adopting what we call, and most people understand as “Library Rules,” requiring members to talk in whisper, use any of our eight call rooms to make or take phone calls, and do not use conference rooms and call rooms as private office to work in.
Anyone who has taken Econ 101 knows about the “Tragedy of the Commons” and what happens to our shared spaces and resources once it starts getting abused to benefit a few at the expense of all. Please help us maintain our third floor co-working space as a clean, busy, vibrant and quiet space to work in alone, in community.
