Michelle Pinkowski
Michelle is a recovering litigator who was able to rediscover the joy of helping people through work in a variety of countries and personal progress toward spiritual freedom.
Michelle’s early legal career as a litigator was most interesting as it related to matters of the built environment. She then began working on the policy level to help national and local governments determine strategy and enact rules related to construction, spatial planning, informal settlements, urban resilience, and property rights. Through this policy work, she ignited a passion for creating impacts on a large scale.
Having also been an advocate for human rights internationally, Michelle became interested in the intersection of civil rights and land use in the form of fair housing law. She uses her unique background to help group home developers and operators navigate the complicated web of restrictions so as to create housing opportunities and integrated communities. Michelle is also an important policy voice for the senior care industry through legislative and regulatory advocacy and development of place-appropriate design standards.
No matter where she is around the world, as a 4th generation Colorado native Michelle always finds her way back home. She and her husband, Brian, have a grown son and a Portuguese Water Dog that they dote on. Free time is almost always spent outdoors.
