Carol Frank
Carol is passionate about business, networking, animals and the intersection of the three. After starting her career as an auditor, over the next 20 years Carol founded and operated three pet companies in Dallas – a retail pet store, a wholesale distribution company, and a pet product manufacturing company. She sold her last business in 2007 and then made the (then) best decision of her life – moving to Boulder in 2008, which is when she joined Highland City Club.
Carol is a now a Mergers and Acquisitions specialist in the pet industry. She is both a Managing Director with MHT Partners, a middle-market investment bank based in Dallas that specializes in consumer products, healthcare, and technology; and the owner of BirdsEye Consulting. BEC advises pet companies on smaller M&A (sub $15 million) transactions.
She is the author of the highly acclaimed book, Do As I Say, Not As I Did! Gaining Wisdom in Business Through The Mistakes of Highly Successful People. A copy of which can be found in the library or Carol is happy to gift a complimentary copy to any interested City Club member.
Carol began her career as a CPA with Ernst & Young. She has a BBA in accounting from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
Over the years, Carol has served in leadership roles within the pet industry and on the board of more than a dozen nonprofit and business organizations. She is currently a Trustee at The University of Colorado Foundation, and is the former chairwoman of the Leeds School of Business Women’s Council and board member of CU’s Deming Center for Entrepreneurship.
Her biggest passion is animals, and she is thrilled to share her life with two parrots, Murphy Green the Eclectus and Lola the African Gray, as well Daphne, a sweet, energetic Whoodle. She loves skiing, cycling, Orange Theory Fitness, and her husband Tad, who she married in 2016.
