Spring In The Rockies

Fifteen years ago, on March 21, 2005, on the first day of Spring, and Persian New Year, we opened the doors to City Club with construction dust still on the floors and paintings, and 36 brave members who were curious to learn what we were up to. We had no idea what we were doing then, and are still not clear where we are headed now, though we have a few good ideas we are experimenting with.

It has been a long and arduous journey, but in the process, we breathed new life into Highland, and in return, built ourselves a community of passionate and caring people who believe black sheep need a tribe too.

A lot has changed in the past fifteen years. We now have hundreds of members, and are finally operating in the black. Born a diplomat, Dustin is now fully in charge of our logistics and operation, and is doing a much better job than I ever did. We have a fantastic team of sixteen smart and hard working employees running Highland like The Grand Budapest Hotel. We have grand visions for the future that includes building a major public cultural arts center across the street, and morphing Highland City Club into Highland Institute for the Advancement of Humanity.

Next Friday, we plan to celebrate the arrival of Spring in the Rockies, Persian New year, and our 15th anniversary, so please plan to join us at lunch and/or for Happy Hour to toast our success to date, and wax poetic about our bright future, whatever it turns out to be.

A glass of Sparkling or a Mimosa on the house, but you must RSVP, allowing us to plan for who and how many are coming to celebrate.
