Howie Schwab

After years of contemplating relocation, Howie recently moved to Boulder from Chicago hoping to spend less time in a city and more time embracing his passion for the outdoors. He feels fortunate to have the flexibility to work remotely for his Chicago-based boutique investment firm, although he still maintains a full travel schedule. In his role as Director of Emerging Markets, Howie spends a lot of time overseas, as well as in NYC and Chicago. 

Boulder's small-town feel, intellectual and cosmopolitan ambiance continue to stand out while Howie integrates himself further into Boulder's outdoorsy culture, while proximity to nature make Boulder a great place to raise kids. Howie is looking forward to introducing his three-year old to skiing, while he enjoys mentoring, ice hockey, traveling and reading, so please pass along any good book suggestions!  Howie also recently started guitar lessons and is searching for good volunteer opportunities in Boulder to work with animals, dogs or children.

Howie finds City Club an ideal environment in the absence of having a physical corporate office in Boulder, and says the club has made the transition to ‘remote’ working much smoother. He is consistently impressed with the diversity of backgrounds and experiences among City Club members, as well as the enriching conversations constantly taking place over lunch.
