Tom Traugott

Tom has spent more than two decades in the data center industry, building long-horizon infrastructure at the intersection of real estate and digital systems. Trained in leasing and development, he developed a disciplined approach to capital allocation, land strategy, and complex, long-term agreements. Today, as SVP of Emerging Technologies at a private equity–backed data center company, he leads AI-driven expansion. He is operating at a clear inflection point: artificial intelligence has accelerated compute demand beyond prior cloud cycles, reshaping scale, density, and design across the built digital landscape. His work demands operational precision alongside strategic foresight to navigate this rapid transformation.

In a business climate that often rewards groupthink, Tom champions independent judgment. He works from a growth and abundance mindset, preferring to build expanding systems rather than compete within zero-sum structures. For him, technology—whe governed by integrity—is an instrument of progress. He is motivated less by short-term advantage than by enlarging the field of participation and contribution.

At home with his wife and three children, his focus turns to formation. A former rugby player, he still returns to the field when he can and embraces the outdoor rhythms of Boulder. With a long-standing interest in spirituality and philosophy, he is intentional about cultivating intellectual independence in his children—teaching them to think critically, question assumptions, and use new tools without surrendering authorship of their own ideas. He remains open to what is next, committed to continued engagement and meaningful contribution.
